  3. Although version 2 has added reports and metrics, there is still no option to get a report on a single code review (eg see all comments grouped by filename)

  5. The company I am currently working for utilizes an existing code review application that provides useful metrics about how many defects are found, how quickly they are fixed, what developers are working on, etc.

These metrics are very useful to the company and while I would very much like to be able to sell this tool because of its easy to use integration with Visual Studio, losing those metrics would be a show stopper in trying to get this software adopted. If the ability exists to show reporting and metrics about code review and usage, I might be able to…

  7. The observer would be able to view and participate in the review, but wouldn't be required to complete it. I.e., they could add comments and even bugs, but if they do not participate in the review at all (e.g., due to time constaints) the reviewer(s) could still end the review as normal with the observer required to interact at all. This would give everyone notification that the review has begun, and make it clear that their role was optional, so to speak.

  8. It would be convenient, if a commit was marked as 'reviewed', after it was added to a review.

  9. At the moment you can only "accept" or "reject", I'd like to see a third status that doesn't close the review. Thus if reviewer has questions and wants to discuss an issue via comments before deciding on accepting or rejecting they select this status.
The status could be called "Response required"

  10. When viewing files from the "Changes" list of a code review you have to double click the file-name to have the file display with the Diff view. This then needs to be manually closed.

To improve usability, and speed up the review process, I would like to see the Diff view open in a preview tab in Visual Studio (as when you single click a file in the solution tree) and then automatically close when a new file is clicked on. As is the default behaviour of the preview tab.

    Thank you.

  11. Currently there is no way to get review data out of Review Assistant. An API would allow us to build a connection between Review Assistant and Jenkins to track code reviews prior to deployment

  12. Currently its impossible to see the branch name while doing a code review. This makes it hard for the reviewer to switch to the branch to directly make changes to it.

  13. I setup a build management in TFS server and add a build checkin policy to TFS, and now every checkin has to have a successful build, otherwise you cannot checkin.

It'd be great if we can setup a custom policy to TFS that every chekin needs to pass a code review. So, instead of developers having to shelve their changes manually and assign the shelveset to a code review, if this tool can do that automatically for you in a checkin process, that'd be super.

  14. It would be nice to be able to see all important items of all projects somewhere.
Right now you have to change to every project in your toolbar to see whether there is something in "My reviews".

Either show all reviews of all projects in "My reviews" or add a new filter like "All my reviews"/"My reviews (all projects)" for this.

  15. I'd like to know what exact changesets developer included in the review and want go to changeset detail page of visual studio (just like when browsing history of file and right clicking and choosing changeset details).

There are related work items but not changesets itself.

  17. Add an ability to add a project for review from Solution Explorer. I should be able to open a project and "right-click -> Add for Code Review" on a solution.

  19. The documentation seems to suggest that management of users does not support Active Directory. No one wants to support management of user names and passwords when the company already has that capability.

  20. The files under review is listed in a simple list box. I would prefer a folder view similar to the solution explorer.
