  4. Would you be able to change the 'Retrieve Data' context menu so that rather than doing a 'select * from table' it does a 'select top n from table' (where 'n' is a number I can configure).

I like having the retrieve data menu, but I avoid using it because with some tables it can lock up the system due to it selecting all rows (which can be millions of rows).

  5. Add an option to hide connections in the "Sleep" state in Session Manager (like MySQL Workbench does).

In many cases an application holds an open connection to the server but is idle. Or the app keeps a pool of open connections, but only a few of them are being used.

Being able to hide connections in the "Sleep" state lets you see only the connections that are actively doing something right now, which is usually what you are interested in.

  6. I know you added some colors to differentiate between dev, stage, prod etc., and it's a good start, but it needs to go further like Toad does. They allow you to make the whole sql editor background color to be changed.

  8. When synchronizing the database it would be nice to be able to replace a certain column with a string. For example, when you sync the user table to a test database, you dont want to get all the production email address, but would like to replace it with 'test@test.com' or something.

  9. A nice improvement to the process of adding revision(s) to a review would include the ability to search by commit hash.

In our agile process, a "story" that is ready for code review generally has the last commit hash (or a list of the commit hashes) documented somewhere on the card/case/whatever-you-call-it. Given this information, it would be really nice to simply copy that hash and be able to search for revision(s) when starting a new review.

  12. This is a big problem for me.
I renamed one table using the refactoring function.
But all views and procedures which used this table were not automatically changed as I expected.
Now I can't even open the views or procedures to manually edit them. All I get is: "unable to parse source text" which derives (so I think) from the now no more existing tables.
I was able to edit the views with the help of phpMyAdmin. But I can't edit the procedure.
This is a big issue for me.

Could you please describe the steps to reproduce the issue in details?

Please also provide us the CREATE definitions of the objects.

Additionally, please specify the version of dbForge.

  13. When right-clicking a selection in Data Editor and selecting the 'Set Value To' popup menu section, in addition to the existing 4 options, there should be the ability to specify custom value.

  14. Whether used on my laptop with a touchpad or my desktop with a mouse, dbForge Studio doesn't support scrolling in any window by any means other than clicking or dragging the scroll bar. It will initially scroll for perhaps a second and then it stops.

  15. If you've already clicked on the database you wish to use, opening a New SQL Query should automatically connect to that database so that intellisense works immediately. At the moment you have to additionally right-click on the database entry and select "open". It's a productivity thing when you use dbForge intensely, as I do.

  16. There are numerous cases where renaming an object, like a table, or field does not update the source of an open stored procedure.

Also, the auto-complete options in the editor are not updated when a new table or field is added, even if its added through the same connection and DBForge instance. Often I am presented with auto-complete suggestions that are completely invalid.

Please note that you can use the ‘Automatically refresh suggestions cache every xxx minutes’ option available in the ‘General’ branch of the ‘Options’ window that can be opened by selecting ‘Tools → Options…’ from the main menu.

  17. I have many fields that use the BINARY data type. Its near impossible to copy the value of those fields properly to use in the UNHEX() function.
    1) Need a mechanism to copy the field as-is for use with UNHEX() and/or copy to Base64
    2) The hex viewer would look better using a fixed-width font

  18. Product: dbForge Studio for MySQL
would you please think about add such keymap support for the sql edit:
Edit.CopyRow, we just foucs the cursor on some row, and press Ctrl+c, then copy this row
Edit.DeleteRow,we just foucs the cursor on some row, and press Ctrl+L, then remove this row directly.
these function are very usefully on visual studio edit, so plz consider these.
