  2. When a sql script is being edited and saved in same directory automated created *.design file. The *.design files in working directories is no good. I suggest to add ability set path for storing *.design files in separate directory. By default it can be temp directory.

  3. Sorry for my english. There is a proposal to add a group by the schemes so as not to squander the entire list of tables / views / procedures.

  5. When you do multiple queries in a single SQL editor window, the results are tabbed down in the DATA window.
If you whant to export all of them to a single file (ex: excel2007), you have to export every single of them.

And also if you add the requested feature of exporting the executed SQL sentence would be ÜBER! :)

  8. When changing database tables or code with dbForge, auto-complete won't adapt to the changes until the cache is manually refreshed.

You can force a refresh using the Edit menu, Code Completion, then Refresh Local Cache. There's also a hotkey for this-- Control-Shift-R.

That said, when dbForge is making a change to an object, it should automatically update its cache for that object without us having to manually refresh the full cache.

This is also a suggestion for your MySQL product:

Please note that you can use the ‘Automatically refresh suggestions cache every xxx minutes’ option available in the ‘General’ branch of the ‘Options’ window that can be opened by selecting ‘Tools → Options…’ from the main menu.

  9. Currently dbForge Source Control display all objects in database. It would be great to be able filter out objects monitored by Source Control based on schema name or other condition.

    Example:
    - Exclude all objects in tmp schema
    - Exclude all objects matching condition 'tmp%' or '%_bak'

Could you please describe this in more detail and specify what functionality of dbForge it relates to? Screenshots would be also of help.

You can reply straight to our support system at supportATdevartDOTcom

  11. It would be great to be able to group databases into custom folders. This is very useful when you have a lot of databases and many of them are logically related (like ReportServer and ReportServerTempDb)

  13. A cyclic automatic query refresh should be possible. I'm a developer and like from time to time to observe my data. An idea is to have some buttons to <refresh every second>, <refresh every five seconds> and <refresh every 30 seconds>.

  14. Would you be able to change the 'Retrieve Data' context menu so that rather than doing a 'select * from table' it does a 'select top n from table' (where 'n' is a number I can configure).

I like having the retrieve data menu, but I avoid using it because with some tables it can lock up the system due to it selecting all rows (which can be millions of rows).

  15. I'm mooching this off of SqlRefactorStudio for SSMS, but since I'm really loving my dbForge Studio experience ... as T-SQL proficiency increases across my company, even our accountants are diving straight into SQL coding. They (and therefore I) have an inherent love of highlighting cells in Excel and seeing a number of common math done on the selected region such as SUM, MAX, MIN, and AVERAGE.

SQL Refactor Studio (for SSMS) has this remarkable ability to highlight cells in the result set and display the math dynamically in the status bar. dbForge Studio in all its magnificence doesn't have this…

  16. The Find and Replace defaults to a scope of "All Open Documents", which is quite irritating and potentially dangerous when Replacing. This causes a jump to a different open document and is an unnecessary distraction. A safer and more reasonable default would be "Current Document", as most of the time I am interested in finding something in the current document. Very rarely am I interested in finding text in all other open documents (Object Finder is a better tool for that kind of thing) and would only want to Replace in All Open Documents in very controlled circumstances.

  18. Add a splitter, giving the ability to horizontally resize the "Recent Files" list in the start page. It would also be nice if the new size was "remembered" the next time Studio was reopened.

  19. To look for and update dbFS requires internet access. Corporates often demand use of a proxy with login to open a path to the internet. I suggest that dbFS could at least present the login dialog box, and possibly remember my credentials for me when it strikes an internet proxy. This would allow the check for updates to work. Thanks
