  2. Currently, when you are working with your own templates or ones you have modified, it is very easy to have a few syntax errors during your edits. It is my experience that the line error information is either not correct or entirely not working most of the time. Clicking on an error is useless since it does not actually take me to the error (sporadic and inaccurate). After minor template changes I made, I have often spent hours trying to figure out the error messages I get when I run, only to find some stupid one character mistake in the…

Could you please clarify what functionality you are referring to and provide us a concrete example of this? Screenshots would be also of help.

You can send a reply straight to our support system at supportATdevartDOTcom and alexaATdevartDOTcom.

  3. There is a problem using "groups" as a name for a table or using that word as part of a stored procedure.

I have a table named like this and when trying to make a backup I always get the same error message: Unexpected symbol 'groups'

If I try to compare 2 schemas it also fails.

In my case I use dbForge Studio for MySQL Professional Edition v9.1.21

  7. When we work in Stored Procedures we already overwrote accidentially code as we were working in different windows and worked on an old version of the code

It is annoying to always need to refresh first to make sure that no old copy of the code is edited.

  9. On a table with system versioning, from context menu I select:
Generate script as > CREATE > To new SQL window.
And the output does not include SYSTEM VERSIONING data at all.
When I run SHOW CREATE TABLE tablename - I get correct information.

    The same with "Edit table"
(In general it would be nice to set, if "Generate script" uses dbForge engine, or from database "SHOW CREATE TABLE", because output sometimes is drastically different)

  11. I'm not sure if this is a bug or if I'm just "holding it wrong" but there doesn't appear to be a way to get object editing tabs to float. Windows like the Object Viewer do (though this is disappointingly without independent minimising controls) but if I'm editing a table or a sproc then the "Float" option is disabled.

Is there a reason for this?

Ideally I think it would greatly help the product if it were possible to float windows and group floated windows into one floating tab group and if each floating object can be minimised/maximised independently of…

  12. We are unable to define delimiters for variables. This causes query code from dbForge to fail when copied to a java based production environment.

Currently the dbForge variable delimiters are not compatible with many environments.

Provide means for users to define variable delimiters like DbVisualizer does.

Could you please describe it in more detail?

Also, you may need to change or remove a database name in the ‘Database’ field of the Database Connection Properties dialog box (right-click the connection in Database Explorer and select ‘Modify Connection…’ from the popup menu).

Could you please turn on dump generating as described below and send it to us for investigation?

    1. Start Regedit.exe
    2. Create a registry key:
    “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting\LocalDumps\dbforgemysql.exe”
    3. Add the following values into it:
    “DumpFolder”=“С:\\DbForgeDumpFolder”
    “DumpType”=dword:00000002
    “CustomDumpFlags”=dword:00001124
    4. After the application crashes, send us the content of the folder “DbForgeDumpFolder”.

  16. 1) meanwhile the execution of SQL script file if I click on some other window, ant then return in output window...the output windows shows the first output...and not the (more usefull) last one.

    2) please fix it! I have more than one schema. I select the first one. Open a SQL file...launch it. Ok. I open a second SQL file...THE SCHEMA CHANGE without show me the change and dbForge run the SQL script on the second schema!!! Damn it!

  17. the table designer has a BUG. A table column can have as a default value an internal server variable, in my case @@bindaddress. The correct way to add it (@@bindaddress), and it works. But when the table editor reverses a table definition, it misinterprets these defaults and saves it back wrong.

  19. When you reverse engineer a table with a column defined like this
tdate timestamp NOT NULL DEFAULT date(CURRENTTIMESTAMP) ON UPDATE CURRENTTIMESTAMP
after any change in the table, unrelated, you write the same column as
tdate timestamp NOT NULL DEFAULT 'date(CURRENTTIMESTAMP)' ON UPDATE CURRENTTIMESTAMP
which is wrong, the quotes cannot be there. The modification fails.

  20. The data viewer stops working intermittently. The only way to get it working again is to restart dbForge. I execute a query, and then right click on a cell in the results and select Data Viewer. In most cases this shows the data in the Data Viewer panel but it regularly jus displays nothing.

Please make sure you are using the latest build 6.2.280.

If the issue still persists in the latest build, please provide us the CREATE definition of the table and a test record so we can reproduce the issue on our side.
