  3. Please develop a dbForge Studio universal - as one container-product for all DBs.
If you are an BI-Developer you are working with dufferend DB-Types at the same time. An it will be much easier to make all connections in one Program

  4. Please add the option to sort alphabetically the field list in the query designer. In the query designer, when you add a table it shows the fields only in the natural order they were added to the table.

  5. Be able to save a group of conditions (or filters) and then be able to switch over different groups with few clicks instead of type the all the conditions every time you want to switch filters

    Example:
Group1: SP contains "user" + SP contains "insert"
Group2: SP contains "admin" + SP contains "delete"
Group3: SP contains "admin" or "user" + contains "delete" + contains "insert"

  6. Just like in Microsoft Management Studio does in the bottom right corner. Now I have to keep doing count(*) queries just to get total number of rows in table or a select query.

  7. Options -> row numbers enabled,

After selecting all data from a result set with CTRL-A, then when the data is pasted into Excel, the row-ids are also pasted.

Looking for a way to paste the data without the row-ids. Changing the option->show row numbers each time is cumbersome.

  8. A previous query may have returned many rows. When I execute a different query from the same TEXT window, two outcomes may happen:
1- the query return many rows and unfortunately, dForge retain the positioning from the previous result set. I have to scroll to the top of the result set and inspect the data from there.
2- if the query fails, the result set from the previous query remains on the DATA tab which may be lead the developer to think it is the data from the query that just got executed.

Please add an option to clear the…

  9. Ran into a problem importing CSV with quoted strings. This is the row that has an issue -

    Code: Select all
"24","Automobile Magazine","http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automobile_Magazine_All-Stars","","Automobile Of The Year","y","\"BMW has produced a car that is the gold standard for its class, something that all other automakers feel they have to measure up to.\"","2006"

The importer has a problem with the escaped quote that can be seen right before BMW above. I think it is standard practice to do this, but no 100% sure. In any case is their a way to set up the import wizard to properly import the quoted escaped…

  10. The dotConnect providers are awesome, except for one BIG issue.
We have to maintain multiple versions over a long period causing issues when we need to upgrade to new dotConnect versions (oracle specifically). The reason is basically the fact that there is no option for side-by-side installation of different dotConnect versions.

There are multiple ways to solve it. Like letting the version be part of the assembly name, or stop putting assemblies into gac at all.

In any case, solving the side by side story would take away hours of troubleshooting related to new dotConnect versions that always comes down…

  11. Can you create a new studio for DB2 ?
This way DB2 databases can be properly synced/diffed in all aspects (foreign keys, triggers, functions, schemas, etc)

  12. In Query Builder, it's convenient when text is structured in the text representation. However, when you need to get the text of the query as a single row text, in order to insert it into Visual Studio, you need to first copy/paste it into the Notepad,
transform into a single row and only then insert it. Kind of irritating and time consuming. Can this be achieved inside dbForge?

  13. It's bizarre that you have this amazing file comparison tool, and you also heavily advertise your database comparison tools, but the comparison views in the DB compare don't use the file comparison code. There's no difference highlighting or smart merging, it's just "blah, here's the two files, you work it out". Sometimes I end up pasting the two blocks into FC so I can get that to point out the tiny difference in a wall of text.

  15. Hey
I use multiple products from your Company (Entity Frame Work Pro, dotConnet for SQL Server, dotConnect for my SQL,...)
Each time you upgrade your product, I have to run multiple installations and I always run in the error, that something is installed within the GAC, which I have to remove by Hand...
It would be much nicer if you would provide one single Installation and what ever username/Password is entered, I can install/upgrade all products with one click (like DevExpress/Telerik and so on are doing it right now)

  17. Background:

I have a text file with over 1.5 Million lines and growing by 1440 lines a day. This is an output file for my weather station. I use the import feature of dbForge to import the data into my MySQL db. I have a batch file that references a dbForge import template to import to my MySQL db every minute.

What I would like is the ability not to exclude the first x number of rows, which is already a feature, but to import the last x number of rows. say for example, in my case, if I wanted…
