The dotConnect providers are awesome, except for one BIG issue.
We have to maintain multiple versions over a long period causing issues when we need to upgrade to new dotConnect versions (oracle specifically). The reason is basically the fact that there is no option for side-by-side installation of different dotConnect versions.

There are multiple ways to solve it. Like letting the version be part of the assembly name, or stop putting assemblies into gac at all.

In any case, solving the side by side story would take away hours of troubleshooting related to new dotConnect versions that always comes down to the fact that only 1 version can be installed at a time.
