dbForge Studio for SQL Server

dbForge Studio for SQL Server is an SQL server development tool incorporating query builder, data import/export and compare tools for managing and analyzing data.

To consider your idea as soon as possible, follow the guidelines:

How can we improve the product?

  1. Temp Table to XML conversion

    Most of the times we will take input parameters as XML datatype but finally output we are getting in table format. If we need to get the output on XML formal then we need option to convert datatable to XML.

  3. In Database Diagram, add the ability to "reroute" all relationships and/or all relationships for a specific table.

  4. Generate Scripts Wizard Options

    Generate Scripts Wizard should have another options (like those in Data Comparison) especially Ignore TIMESTAMP columns and Inculde/Exclude tables by mask.

  5. Theme Import from Visual Studio VSSETTINGS

    Cannot import color scheme from visual studio vssettings or from corresponding sql complete export from ssms or visual studio. https://studiostyl.es/ offers a whole range of custom colors for code enviroment. I'd love the ability to import a color scheme without the needed to manually build item by item in the options menu currently offered in sql studio.

  7. Custom SQL commands and HotKeys like MS-SMS

  8. Shortcut key for Parent Container in Database Explorer

    In SSMS I can press backspace to navigate to the parent container. So i have a procedure selected, pressing backspace will take me to "programmability." One more and I am at the database level. From there I can quickly jump to tables, etc.

    With hundreds of procedures I find myself scrolling for days just to get back to "tables"

  9. Keyboard shortcut for selecting connection

    Mostly love the way dbForge Studio treats connections: the way you can set a color and shape, the way they persist and can be selected in the toolbar dropdown, etc.

    It would be great if that dropdown could be selected via keyboard shortcut.

  11. Change query result window behaviour

    Some users (and I'm amonh them) prefer to see query results in separate window. I can change it when I open new query, but there is no option to make this choice by default. In SQL Server Management Studio you can move between these windows (query, result, output window) by pressing F6, there is no hotkey for that.

  14. Allow filtering where the results shows the number of changes for a column at the bottom of a tab

    When I run a compare, I often have thousands of records in the results tabs, per tab. At the bottom it shows the number of different records for each column labeled "Changes". Would be great to have a button that quickly filters on those records that are different instead of trying to scroll up and down to find them, per column.

  15. Diagram Features

    1. Copy Paste containers with tables between diagrams
    2. Option for default view of tables (Name Only, Properties, etc)
    3. A free viewer so clients can look at diagrams I create
    4. Lock Position of tables inside container (no move, even when hit layout button)
    5. Ability to color table titles in diagram .. same way container is colored

  16. logical data model

    The database diagram should be allowed for offline creation and modification. In the agile development world the relational model can through a number of changes before the physical model is ever deployed. It would be nice to be able to design the database offline and then when all parties agree, push those changes to the database.

  17. Auto close current connection immediataly after script has been completted

    Now, it is uncomfortably to drop temporary tables manually when a script is restarted.

    To avoid this problem I suggest to add settings to auto close current connection immediately after script has been completed

  20. Sql formatter

    The SQL formatter (CTRL+K CTRL+D) is great, but...
    1. I can never remember how to get to the screen to change the options. I have already had the answer to where this is but every time I need to go back to it I can never find it. I think the menu for it isn't clear enough.
    2. After every update of the product all my formatting options are lost. I am now sick of setting it up every time (because it is time consuming)
