1. Key bindings like in Sublime Text 2

   The way that Sublime Text 2 manages key bindings is far superior to the Visual Studio way which dbForge Studio currently implements. Specifically, I would like to be able to edit a text file that describes how keys ought to be bound.

   Personally, I prefer emacs-style key bindings, but not everyone does and my keyboard doesn't have the home/end/pgup/pgdown buttons because I use a MacBook Pro.

   dbForge Studio doesn't appear to support bindings for moving to the end or beginning of a line, so I'm stuck without an ability to remap these keys.

2. Additional Relation Notation for Database Diagram

   To show a 'many' relationship on the child side, a 'crow's foot' shape is used now. SSMS uses 1 and * (asterisk sign) to show one-to-many relation. So you can add similar notation to the Diagram Document Options. (Now there are two options available: IE and IDEF1X)

4. Schema/data comparison user interface

   Hi. I'm currently evaluating studio for sql server. OK, i'm primarily interested in schema and data comparison but evaluating the whole studio product. Here's a couple of things which i think would be useful additions/modifications to the UI of the product(s) (schema and data comparison).

   1. The "recent files" section. I think it would be better if there was a "favorites" section above "recent files" and the user was able to choose whether he wishes to have the "recent files", "favorites" or both sections shown. Also, comparison projects could have an editable title so in the "favorites" section, one could see the title instead of what appears now ("DB (Server1 vs Server2)").
   2. In the results of the schema comparison, tables are grouped depending on whether they are different or only in one of the two servers. I've used other comparison programs and i find the "two trees approach" more useful and clear than the one you are using. Imagine two trees in the screen. The left one shows the source server's items and the right one the destination. There is a top level in the tree containing the names of all items taking place in the comparison (tables, views, functions, procs, etc). Under there, all names (i.e. of the tables) are shown with different colors depending on whether they are the same, different or non-existant. Each table name could also be expandable so one could see its columns, indexes, keys, default values, etc. In front of the tree a checkbox should exist so one would be able to check it and make it a part of any sync script generated. Under the trees, a section exists like the one you have now, showing the left and right "create" scripts of the tables. If you have a visual image of a DB in your mind with all tables sorted alphabetically, it's easier to work with it like this than having all tables/views grouped by "only in source server, different, etc").
   3. Clicking on a "recently used" item (for data comparison only), the "edit comparison" window should appear in the "mapping" section, just in case someone wishes to select a different set of tables to be compared. When you have a local DB and a remote one with a slow connection, you wish to select the comparison items before starting the process which might take several minutes to complete.
   4. The "change sync direction" concept in the data comparison window is a little confusing. It would be much better if the whole window was changed in such a way as if the comparison was made from the beginning with the two servers swapped. Swap the values of the grid columns "only in source" and "only in target" and not the titles. The same with the tabs.

5. Provide a means to 'preview' the results of a sql query prior to actually executing it.

   When designing fairly complex queries that would result in the altering of several (potentially hundreds) of rows of data it would be nice to be able to see a 'preview' of what the results of running it might be. This would help greatly in refining the query as it is being written so that it really does end up producing the desired results.

6. Don't remove "Recent Files" items just because of network access issues.

   When selecting a Recent Files' item that is not currently accessible, dbForge for SQL Server removes that item from the list. This is a highly unusual UX experience and very annoying.

7. Duplicate query

   I would like to see an option on tab context menu. Often I need to duplicate (clone) my query. So another useful option in context menu when clicking on Query Tab would be "Duplicate query" or something like that.

11. Query Builder Union Support

    hi guys

    a simple UNION like

    SELECT TOP 10 contactnumber FROM contacts c JOIN addresses a ON c.addressnumber = a.addressnumber
    UNION
    SELECT TOP 10 contactnumber FROM contacts c JOIN addresses a ON c.addressnumber = a.addressnumber

    will create an error "1 Not unique table/alias: 'c' Query.sql".

    It would be nice to see the querybuilder processing these kind of sql's.

12. Coloring for NULL value in results grid

    Is it possible to add the coloring for NULL values in results grid, like SSMS has (yellow, or customizable in options). It is much easier to spot null values that way.

13. Locate in database explorer

    In SQL Complete the F12 (Go to definition) expands the item in database explorer. In dbForge Studio this opens table in new window.

    I would like similar option in text editor context menu, for example Locate in Database Explorer, which will expand to the wanted node, whether it is table, column, procedure, view etc.

14. Allow :param bind variables like we use in our Code

    In my development, I use :variable for paramters. I come from the Oracle world. This @ thing causes me 2 issues. First, it stops my query from working with copy/paste once I debug it. Second, when I copy a query from the web, or my app, and try to paste it in, I have to edit it.

    It would be nice if EITHER:
    1) The : worked as a bind variable (even if I had to turn on a flag)
    2) The : REPLACED The @ if that makes it easier for you to do...

15. SSH Tunnel Function/Advanced Security Options for MS SQL Server

    I've noticed that the dbForge MySQL Studio database connection properties includes "Use Security Protocols" and includes options for SSL/SSH connections, as well as public key authentication, whereas dbForge MSSQL Server Studio does not include such a feature... Would be very helpful.

16. Generate CREATE script for filtered objects (e.g. Procedures)

    Filter Objects in databse explorer and then select contecxt menu item to generate the CREATE script.
    This would be much faster and easier to handle than the newly integrated Generate Script Wizard.

    It would be nice to have a tool which allows me to see all dependencies like a graph for a specific object. This helps me to identify all possible impacts; this would be a killer feature.
