dbForge Studio for SQL Server

dbForge Studio for SQL Server is an SQL server development tool incorporating query builder, data import/export and compare tools for managing and analyzing data.

To consider your idea as soon as possible, follow the guidelines:

How can we improve the product?

  1. Refactoring of existing queries

    Especially: renaming table aliases. Other suggestons:
    adding aliases, adding or removing AS keywords, replacing aliases with table names or vice versa, removing 'redundant' aliases or table names.

  3. Data generator

    Redgate does a data generator that is quite useful. It looks at the schema for the tables and generates randomized (according to rules that you can select) data to fill them. It is quite useful when you need to say generate 100,000 rows for testing.

  4. Backup / Restore database

    Implement the ability to backup and restore databases just like in dbForge Studio for Oracle and dbForge Studio for MySQL.

  6. Ability to select between several color schemes for SQL document

    Implement at least two color schemes dark and bright so when changing to the dark scheme, a user is to be able to quickly change the text color as well.

  7. Ability to generate insert/update stored-procedures for given table

    I like to right click a table name and dbforge should produce a stored procedure for insert/update out of it, like

  8. Provide the ability to export data in MS Excel 2010 format.

    more than 65000 recordes can be experted in csv format files, but they cannot cope with ' or " is text fields.

  9. Copy database from one server to another

    SQL Server 2000 had an option that allowed you to copy a database from one server to another. This option copied schema and data all in one move. We used the option frequently to copy production databases from production to development servers. Your software can do this, but requires several steps.

  11. Implement alternative ways to create new object

    Why a new object can only be created from main nodes ("Tables", "Procedures"...). Uncomfortable when there are many items I have to scroll up to the top and only then I can create new object from popup.

  13. Profiling mode should use parameter

    I can set parameter for my query. But if I use profiling mode, DBForge 5.0.337 ignore the parameters.

  14. Problems with schema refresh

    I use version 4.5.60 and do the following: I edit a table (remote connect to SQL2012Express) and add two new columns (one bit, one int) with NOT NULL and Default Value. I click "Script change" and I execute only the two ADD COLUMN statements. It works, I check it with "Retrieve data". I close all tabs and go to again to "Edit table". I get the old schema (without the new two columns). I close your application and start it again: all works fine!
