Import Excel - a preference to change default varchar size from current 4000
Whenever importing workbooks, the data type for text gets set to varchar(4000)
In a normalized table it is rare to have all fields of this size - but more importantly, the maximum length that T-SQL allows for INDEXING is 900, so if I was to have a default value which is most flexible, it would be 900, not 4000.
Since spreadsheets tend to be flat data with many columns that have to be analyzed in many ways - I always have to go through each column before importing to figure out which column I may want to create an index…

Fix Find and Replace dialog annoyances
The Find and Replace dialog has two annoyances :
1. "Look in:" should indicate "Selection" whenever the dialog is open and there is text selected in the query window. Particularly important for replace actions !
2. When switching to either the "Find what:" or "Replace with:" edit field, the content should be selected instead of placing the cursor at the end. This way, what the user types reaplces the content of the edit box. Thanks for voting :)

Ignore index included column order
In the Schema comparison options, to have another option available to ignore the column order for the included columns in a nonclustered index, as this column order is not relevant.

Search query history like SSMS Tools Pack
It'd be great if dbForge Studio could periodically save a copy of the query file in some temp folder and also provide an interface to search all that history (and not just the current window).

Right-click to copy column headers
I would love to be able to right-click on the column headers in a result set and "Copy Column Headers", say to a comma-delimited string. I found this super-useful back in my days using MySQL Query Browser especially when writing INSERT INTO code.
1 voteThere is the ‘Copy with Headers’ feature.
Also, there is the ‘Generate Script As’ feature with the help of which you can generate the INSERT statement.

Data Comparison and Sync: Add option to "ignore computed columns"
Some of my tables have computed columns. I try to go through the mappings and manually un-check those tables before I do a data sync, but I sometimes miss one, the sync blows up, and I have to start again from scratch.
Since it doesn't normally make sense to try to write to a computed column, I think there should be a (defaulted to on) checkbox that says "ignore computed columns".

Running database script against multiple databases on a server
For example, on our server, we currently have over 400 event databases. We would need to copy and paste the line to call the execute function 400 times and change the database name on each line.
It would a great feature if SQL Studio could give us a list of all databases on the server we connect to (with a check box next to each one), with an option to "select all". It would then automatically execute the query against all checked databases.
This would save us a lot of time, and would mean your product has all the functionality…
54 votesIn version 6.0, there is now a possibility to select the ‘Run On Multiple Targets’ command from the popup menu of a SQL document.

Ability to create new database from popup menu in Database Explorer
one glaring omission seems to be that you cannot create new databases using this tool - so I have to still revert to Management Studio to create the database, then switch to Devart for everything else.
Is it possible you could add this functionality?

Make LOB editor window remember its size and position or make it dockable
Make LOB editor window remember its size and position.
I work with long strings sometimes. The editor window opens for a quarter of the screen, so I have to extend it manually every time, it's not convenient. It would be nice if it remembered it's last size and position, or if if was dockable.
Line wrapping could help too.1 voteThis feature is implemented in the new version 4.0 of dbForge Studio for SQL Server http://www.devart.com/dbforge/sql/studio/download.html

Refactoring of existing queries
Especially: renaming table aliases. Other suggestons:
adding aliases, adding or removing AS keywords, replacing aliases with table names or vice versa, removing 'redundant' aliases or table names.18 votesWe would like to let you know that we have released dbForge Studio for SQL Server, v3.8 Beta where the feature you reported is implemented.
