Crash when pasting tab-separated dataI have data in a text editor which is tab-separated. I copied one line from the text editor with 44 tab-separated integer values no higher than 788 to the clipboard. I then opened a table with 100 columns in edit mode, pressed insert to add a new row and pasted the copied line. The line looks fine at the moment (before sending crash report and restarting), i.e. the paste operation seams to work on the visual layer, but then the crash report showed up. 1 vote

Change default encoding for saving script filesDefault file save encoding is UTF-8. Would be nice to be able to change the default to something else, e.g. Western European (Windows) -Codepage 1252 to make it easier to work with those scripts in other tools. 1 vote

better copy to clipboard feature of CSV datawhen i view a query result, i see all the records selected. i need a quick way to select these records and import into excel. the current copy to csv to clipboard separates the data with a semicolon. when i paste this to xls, it puts each row into cell A. i have to save the file and then import to xls and change the field separator to a semi colon. thanks 1 voteThis is governed by the ‘Field separator’ option in the ‘Data Export → CSV’ section of the ‘Options’ window

Return back Ctrl+ShiftThat combination is used to switch between Windows languages. In the latest update dbForge awaits pressing some additional key upon Ctrl+Shift. Because of this, the first letter is not printed after pressing Ctrl+Shift. Let combinations with Ctrl+Shift to work only when these keys are hold down. 1 vote

Configurable LayoutIt is typical to write or extend a sql stmt on the top of a query window and to see the result in the bottom.
dbForge has not that standard behaviour for this window. My Suggestion is to configure or save the last the window layout as it will be needed.
I know there are two buttons in the bottom to click on to change this layout but when you work the whole day with this tool and you have click 200 times a day these both buttons it's getting bothersome and not a good user experience.3 votes

Better support for 4k monitorsThe scaling on 4k monitors is not very good. Most text is readable but some text like on the title bar and in code-completion dropdowns are being truncated. I have to override the high DPI scaling behavior and set it to System to make it more readable and user friendly. Of course, when I do this it makes some text like that on the start page slightly fuzzy. 17 votesIt’s fully supported in version 6.0.

See query that filter automatically is generatingWhen I filter the results grid in DBForge Studio for SQL Server, it's great to quickly get the results i need! However, there are times I'd like to see the SQL of the filter (i.e. what it is putting in the WHERE clause) so I can use it in my own SQL query. Currently I do not see a way to view or export that. This would be a nice feature to have! 3 votes

Column / Box / Vertical Select using <Alt> keyIn SSMS / Visual Studio you can select a box section / columns from multiple lines for editing using the <Alt> key (EG: Select area on a single line, press <Alt> and down / up arrow and you'll have those same columns then selected in other rows too). This allows for quickly replacing / editing data that recurs across multiple consecutive lines - It's proved a HUGE time-saver. I believe this is what was asked for here:
https://devart.uservoice.com/forums/177009-dbforge-studio-for-sql-server/suggestions/14157501-column-modeand it would be great to have that added into Studio. 13 votes

Ability to set path for storing *.design filesWhen a sql script is being edited and saved in same directory automated created *.design file. The *.design files in working directories is no good. I suggest to add ability set path for storing *.design files in separate directory. By default it can be temp directory. 12 votes

Mouse wheel does not scroll the Database Explorer tree listI have a database server with many dozens of databases containing many hundreds of objects (tables, views, etc.) each. I use the mouse scroll wheel to scroll this list in MS SSMS and I would hope to be able to do this with dbForge Studio. 1 vote

Ability to include Text Compare results in SQL Schema Compare ReportIn dbForge Schema Compare for SQL Server you can see actual code difference in UI in Text Compare section. But when it produces a report there is no option to include Text Compare details. Report only has object level details. It would be useful to to have option of including actual Text Compare for automated notifications about schema changes. 39 votes

Intellisense for tables in tempdbWhen joining, querying, or trying to expand table.* column names for a table in the tempdb database, Intellisense does not work even for tables that existed when starting dbForge. It would be nice to be able to have that feature even if it meant manually adding the table to the Intellisense cache. 3 votes

Comment / Un-comment a block of Code.Frequently I have the need to comment or un-comment a section of my SQL code, e.g. a set of columns or a portion of a WHERE clause. It would be nice if I could select the block, right-mouse, and select comment/un-comment to place the "--" characters in front of the selected lines of code. 4 votes

Retrieve Data select top n rowsWould you be able to change the 'Retrieve Data' context menu so that rather than doing a 'select * from table' it does a 'select top n from table' (where 'n' is a number I can configure). I like having the retrieve data menu, but I avoid using it because with some tables it can lock up the system due to it selecting all rows (which can be millions of rows). 11 votes

Find and Replace Dialogue: safer scope defaultsThe Find and Replace defaults to a scope of "All Open Documents", which is quite irritating and potentially dangerous when Replacing. This causes a jump to a different open document and is an unnecessary distraction. A safer and more reasonable default would be "Current Document", as most of the time I am interested in finding something in the current document. Very rarely am I interested in finding text in all other open documents (Object Finder is a better tool for that kind of thing) and would only want to Replace in All Open Documents in very controlled circumstances. 29 votes
