Support pre-commit review for all VCS

Pre-commit review is must to have for all type of version controls with diff/patch files or directly by uploading different version of files otherwise its going to be behind the other review tools in making of choice.

    Supporting pre-commit changes is a deal breaker for my company. I'd love to use Review Assistant for perforce reviews but without this feature, the tool is worthless.

    we are using svn, and this is very importent feature for our code quality.
    you should checkin code that is allready reviewed and approved.

    as i see it now with SVN we can only commit. meens we can review the code after we check in.

    for TFS users.... whay to use Devart tool, you can use build in TFS core review.
    you can review the code before you checkin with TFS.

    hope you can include this feature in your next release

    I would love to use this product, but until you integrate with GIT, for me, specifically TFS with Git repo, I am stuck using pull requests.

    We extremely need this feature, because we have SVN and now can't have any possibility to review code until it is commited to the repository.

    I believe this is a limitation of TFS itself. MS has said they will introduce an iterative pre-commit code review policy in TFS 2015 around the Update 1 timeframe. Hopefully ReviewAssistant will be able to support this work when it's available as they did with the existing pre-commit code review policy. I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for them to implement this on their own.

    You can review a shelveset but you don't get review iteration. If there was an ability to bind a new shelveset as an iteration to an existing review you could have a real pre-commit review process.

    Current implementation of pre-commit review is based upon shelvesets and Review Assistant allows to operate only with one shelveset per review, so iterative review is not possible. We want a fully operable pre-commit iterative review for TFS.

    There already is a pre-commit review, you can review a shelf-set.
