  4. Dynamic backup for stored procedures, it would be great if, for example, you can backup a group of stored procedures using as a base a comma separated list (or any other separator). Personally I work everyday with many databases and moving many stored procedures among them and it's a kinda troublesome select one by one everytime I have to backup them, so, I think this feature is necessary, even you could extend the feature to views, triggers and events.

  5. It would be really useful to have functionality to backup database schema/data into separate files. This especially handy when it comes to source code control. I know some other desktop MySQL managers do have it for ages. It would be convenient to have such a feature in dbForge Studio so we can forget about using other MySQL desktop apps.

This can be achieved in two steps using the ‘Structure’ and ‘Data’ options that are available on the ‘Backup content’ page of Database Backup Wizard that can be invoked by selecting ‘Backup and Restore → Backup Database…’ from the popup menu of a database in Database Explorer.

  6. Currently, the target directory for backups and restores is remembered between sessions as a global setting, affecting the whole application.

We store in separate directories for each connection or each database. It would reduce mouse clicks if Studio remembered the target directory of backup and restore operations on a per-connection or per-database basis.

  9. Starting from version 5, it became not convenient to specify a backup file where you need to select both a path and file name in two separate fields.

Bring back a single dialog for specifying a path and file name.

  12. If multiple queries are run at the same time on the same sql tab, and there are thus multiple outputs, there should be the ability to export all the outputs simultaneously. This feature is available in PL SQL Developer.

  15. I just upgraded from version 5 to 6 and found out that results from multiple queries are shown in multiple tabs which I really don't like (harder to read data). Does anyone know if it is possible to change to the way version 5 worked (results in the same tab one below the other).

  16. Please introduce support for multiple cursors. Confer the functionality in Sublime Text and Visual Studio Code. This is a critical time-saving feature. I often find myself editing my queries in those tools, and then copying and pasting them back into dbForge to make use of its features like auto-completion, then back again to vs code for useful features there. It would be a game changer to have robust multiple cursor support (including corresponding key bindings for customization of expanding selection under cursor and add cursor above/below) in dbForge.

  17. When editing a data result in the grid view and the edit is affecting multiple rows, no warning / question is given. This is a very helpful feature in SQLyog when editing relative complex data results with multiple joins, and stops me from switching.

  18. When doing a Backup / Restore, It does order the Views so that if one View references another, the referenced View is defined first. I assume it orders them by case. Could you make it so that it defines the prerequisite views first or ahead of the views that require them.

Thanks for the amazing program, I realize this probably isnt a bug in dbForge but more a generic SQL issue but it would be nice if dbForge would transparently order them when making a backup.

  20. Hello,
When deleting multiple rows, the application deletes them one at the time.
If you could use a "IN" condition with the primary key, if any, the execution will be must more faster.
