dbForge Studio for MySQL

dbForge Studio for MySQL is a universal set of MySQL GUI tools for database management, administration and development. It enables to create and execute queries, develop and debug MySQL routines, and automate MySQL database object management in the convenient environment.

  1. Multiselect in session manager

Right now I've to kill sessions/queries in session manager one by one. I would like to be able to select many of them (usualy sorted by query time) and kill them all - even if it's actually executed as individual queries.

  3. Peek overview of Views, functions, and stored procedures.

when you type in a query window and you have the following types of database objects are returned: Views, Functions, and stored procedure. It will be a great feature to have a view of the code of the object.

This way it will be easier to find out which Stored procedure or view to change by simply hovering over the database object instead of going to the defintion and right click and select modify.

  4. Support backtrace on exception in debug mode

When I run a sequence of stored procedure calls and somewhere in there an error occurs, the debugging session just ends. If the error could have happened at multiple places then it would be very helpful to have a back trace of the last line to successfully execute or the one that failed to execute.

  5. A right-click WHERE option on tables from the Query Builder

By right clicking on a column of a table, the WHERE option would be available and allow the selection and completion of the WHERE statement on the selected column. Same could be done with Order By, Group By and Having.

    Many thanks !

  6. Add support for build variables/parameters

There are times when some arbitrary string or bit of code needs to be different for separate build configurations.

For example, in a project that contains numerous cross-database queries, one might need to specify the database based on which build configuration was selected.

This could be handled by providing a way to define variables (or parameters if you prefer that term) that could be placed in the table, stored procedure, etc. scripts. The variables would be replaced by values specified for each build configuration when generating the deployment (or schema change) script.

  7. Show hint with database object comment in the Database explorer

    Hello, guys!
I like to write comments for my objects and it will be helpful if comments will be shown in the hint on mouse hover on the database object in the Database explorer.

  8. Possibility to keep previous results (data tabs) in Data Editor

When you create a query window and run multiple queries, you get multiple tabs showing the data.

If you then Ctrl-F8 to Execute Selection (either on new queries or existing) , you lose previous data tabs and they are replaced with the new one, by default it seems at least.

Is it possible to stop previously run data tabs closing, either globally or by pinning individual tabs to stop them closing when you run new queries within that tab? Its extremely frustrating when trying to access multiple data sets, you have to create new query tabs and end up in…

  9. Master password

Application now allows user to save connection information. It also allows saving password for saved connection which is very bad idea without encrypting the saved password. This means the database password is available for anyone having physical or virtual access to the hard-drive. Usual way to solve this problem is using master password (like password managers etc. do). Master password is easy to implement but very useful feature so you don't need to copy-paste the database passwords from separate password manager. This might not be suitable for all but I suppose nice feature for many.

  10. Quick search of a table after retreiving data

A search bar across the top above column names after retreiving data (either by right clicking on a table and retreiving data, or after running a select query).

The search bar would function as a WHERE statement clause to temporarly further refine the data.

Example: data on a record needs to be quickly manually edited. With two clicks (one right on the table, on left on retreive data) I can retrive records from the table. Then typing in the search bar "id = 3728" (without the quotes) woulld then filter the results down to only those matching.

    Both SequalPro (Mac)…

  11. Add right click on a solution explorer folder show context menu

In dbForge Fusion for MySQL, when you add a folder to the project in the Solution Explorer, right clicking on it does not bring up a menu. I added a folder named DataFiles to go along with Functions, Procedures, Tables and Views folders. When you right click on any of these last 4 folders you get a menu with the following choices:
    ... Add New File...
    ... Add Existing File...
    ... Add Folder
    ... Rename
    ... Delete
    ... Refresh
    ... Properties

  12. Toggle USE <database> statement

    Hello,

I'm currently looking into available tools to perform DDL and DML comparison from the command line for an automation project of database continuous delivery. So besides a tool running from the command line it also needs to be able to generate the necessary scripts.
After a day of playing around with both dbForge schema and data compare, everything is looking fine and they seem to be good candidates for this project.
Unfortunately I'm currently stuck with one challenge. As the comparison phase is only done once, in the beginning of the automation chain, the generated scripts need to be…

  13. Add tables multiple times to a diagram to improve readability

If you have a table with many contrans it gets a little confusing in a big diagram. So maybe you can add a duplicate of this table, mark it as duplicate, and route som constrains to the first copy (reference, however you call it) and some to the other. so you can reduce crossing constrain lines.

  14. Tool for analyzing query performance that would propose possible improvements (create index, stats ...)

    hello
I use "dbForge Studio for MySQL" for a few months instead of "SQL Maestro" I used several years.
In parallel, I use "Microsoft Managment Studio" to manage Sql Server databases.
In this software, there is a feature that allows to analyze the performance of queries, and "Managment Studio" proposes ways to improve (create index, stats ...) of the application under test.
If this could be added in your software, that would be great!
    Best Regards
    pascal.

  15. Filter Editor with selectable conditions

It would be wonderful if you could activate or deactivate each condition in the Filter Editor like in the Navicat "Filter Wizard".
PS: about the "Filter Editor" interface, I don't understand why there is no button in the toolbar to open it...

  17. Display which source fields aren't mapped to destination fields

When importing files in the Mapping screen, the software shows which destination fields are and are not mapped to a source field. It would be great to know which source fields aren't mapped to a destination fields too.

  18. Filter DB objects in Schema Compare

Only Compare Table Schema for example and forget the rest of the DB objects. Often I don't need to compare the entire Schema. Just the views or maby just the Tables...etc.

  19. Colour Printing

It would be really handy to be able to print scripts in colour as it is displayed in the script editor.

  20. Configure SECURITY DEFINER

Have an option to be able to configure the default SECURITY DEFINER, currently it always selects Definer and the current user. I want to be able to configure a different user or for it to be SECURITY INVOKER.
