  1. Add ability to use JDBC connections (like dbVisualizer) for access to other DB's (I personally need it for as400 / iSeries / System i data). Initial release could just support data viewing, import.

  2. How about a simple progress bar or indicator showing progress of import/exports. It could be as simple as "importing record 12345/67890"
    instead of a progress graphic.

  3. I'd deleted a lot of records from a debugging trace table (inserted < '2014-08-01') but dbForge MySQL still said "Record 3 of 4000". It would have been really helpful if it had actually said "Record 3 of 4000 (of 5043)" I'd forgotten the "toolbar" entry was set to 4000 for a moment. In many cases it is helpful, if not essential, to know the total record count if only a subset is displayed. This could be configurable to avoid upsetting other users.

  4. It'd be great if there was an option that was basically the reverse of "Format Current Statement" that collapsed the query down to a one line statement (basically remove all newlines and carriage returns that were inserted during a format). This option would be helpful when copying a query back to another IDE for coding.

  5. When I run a script with lots of commands and that takes hours to run, the output only shows the file name and the execution time. Providing some information about each command that has run or is running would be very helpful.

  6. The close buttons take up space and can be clicked by accident. Closing via the middle mouse button is a very useful pattern adopted by many apps, like Firefox & NetBeans.

  7. Only Compare Table Schema for example and forget the rest of the DB objects. Often I don't need to compare the entire Schema. Just the views or maby just the Tables...etc.

  8. For Texteditor or Data Editor it is already possible, but not for other tables e.g. while editing the structure of a table

  9. If you have a table with many contrans it gets a little confusing in a big diagram. So maybe you can add a duplicate of this table, mark it as duplicate, and route som constrains to the first copy (reference, however you call it) and some to the other. so you can reduce crossing constrain lines.

  10. Lines should "jump" when they intersect. Lines that go through each other cause confusion; arcs add clarity.

  12. Hi, there is a suggestion for improvements :
    It could be usefull to have possibility for conditional breakpoint in Stored Procedure debuging. For example, in a procedure, i put a breakpoint, but i want the process to stop only if some variable has a specific value.
    And by the way, it could be also usefull to see the value of a use variable. For exemple, if a define a variable vvar, when the mouse cursor is over the variable, i can see an info about this variable, but if i define another like @vvar (with the @ prefix),…

  13. Sometimes is useful to sync just one object. It may be done via right click, choosing to sync data also in case the object is a table.

  14. I suggest that the currently selected object be available to Copy.

    Pressing Alt+Insert launches and pre-populates the Column Properties dialog box with the column that currently has focus, but the name field is null, and the Save process doesn't overwrite.

    But you know this. Awesome work. I like it.

  15. I would love to be able to right click on a table and set an alias for that table that would then be used in the alias for scripts from then on rather than having to edit them each time
    for eg

    mystupidclient_table

    i could set an alias of stupidClient to it

    so when I typed

    select from mystupidclient_table

    autocomplete would use the alias for the table i previously specified to give

    select from mystupidclient_table stupidClient

    ideally we could autocomplete on the specified aliases with a seperate hotkey, tab vs ctrl->space perhaps where one…

  17. Hi
    Love DbForge but I find I'm always writing this sort of query

    UPDATE
    client
    SET
    client.foo = 0
    WHERE EXISTS
    (
    SELECT
    1
    FROM
    clientRegion
    WHERE
    clientRegion.clientId = client.id AND ....
    )
    it would be ideal if dbforge could recommend some completions for the correlated portion inside the ( ) based on fk's in the same way it does for joins.

  18. If it is not possible to display how long current set of queries is being executing (in a status bar next to word "Executing..." - I don't see quite honest why it is not possible), how about to show start time in an output window saying when query was sent to execution. Right now it shows only AFTER query has returned a result which is some what becomes irrelevant.

    I come from MS SQL and it is handy to know how long any query is executing without profiling it.

  19. When editing a stored procedure, the 'design SQL' mode is very useful to visualise and modify the design of the statement - except when the stored procedure contains a parameter. 'Design SQL' does not recognise the parameter for what it is and instead tries to interpret as a reserved SQL word and kicks out an 'unknown identifier' error. Would be great if the 'design SQL' editor would recognise the parameters and not kick out the error.

  20. Deep sysntax check of stored procedures/functions.
    1. Check all variables defined (error, blocks save)
    2. Check all defined variables used in code (notice, not blocks save)
    3. Check fields exists in tables
    4. Etc. Check list can be extended in future.
